Plastic Awareness
9 08 2007Yesterday, on the local Philly news, they had a short story about the dangers of plastics. I was very happy to see that this actually made the news. However, the news story did not go into enough detail — just enough to make people maybe think, but not enough to make people actually aware. Concluding the story by saying that it may be years before we have conclusive evidence about the dangers of plastic isn’t sending enough urgency to people. It’s just one of those stories that viewers end up ignoring because of how the story is actually treated.
Well, at Kangen Water Report, we are very adamant that people do their research about the hazards of plastic. I have posted several articles already, and will post more. I have switched to stainless steel water bottles for myself, my husband, and our son. I have stopped using plastic for storing my food, and years ago had already stopped using plastic in the microwave. I’ve also stopped putting anything plastic in the dishwasher, because the water gets so hot, that the heat changes the properties of the plastic, and the chemicals leach onto everything else in the dishwasher. I feel that I am taking the necessary precautions to protect my family from something that has been taken for granted for years, no matter how dangerous, because it is convenient.
For those people who are taking a positive step in their health and awareness, stainless steel water bottles can be found at www.SafeCanteen.com
